Use of the C-axis and the U-axis in addition to the conventional three axes of X-axis, Y-axis and Z-axis enables the perpendicular contact of measurement probe against any shape of object for measurement at all times. Thanks to the 5-axes control, it eliminates offset of the measurement probe.


  • FKS-40M is capable of not only its unique profile geometric measurement but also the general-purpose measurements such as pitch and hole diameter measurements as you desire.
  • The measurement system runs on Windows so that its operation is really simple with the use of menu system.


FKS-40M uses the step gauge of KOBA - Kolb & Baumann GmbH & Co. KG, Germany that is gaining the high reputation as the calibration standard for coordinate measuring system and realizes the high-precision calibration.



Three types of data processing system are available (for the profile geometric measurement).
  • "Shape display"
    Both of the design value geometry and the actual measurement value geometry are compared and displayed.
  • "Linear exploded view"
    The linear exploded view of the actual measurement value is displayed.
  • "Actual measurement value"
    Actual measurement value is displayed. (Either the R-θ or X-Y can be displayed.)



5-axes control (simultaneous 4-axes) is realized in the coordinate measuring machine.
Use of the C-axis and the U-axis controls enables the 5-axes control.
FKS-40M is only the coordinate measuring machine that uses the 5-axes control.

FKS-40M has its unique C-axis and U-axis that the conventional measuring machines are not equipped with. Thanks to the unique C-axis and U-axis, the probe (measuring probe) can keep contacting with the object to be measured, at its constant measuring point. Thus the offset to compensate for the probe diameter is eliminated. The calculation operation is also reduced as the offset is eliminated thus the number of causes of error is also reduced.

Conventionally, different programs are used for measurement and processing. FKS-40M uses the processing software program for measurement thus the highly reliable and highly accurate measurement is realized.

For example, the products that are processed by the FKS series machines (CNC jig grinding machine, CNC cam grinding machine) and other NC processing machines can be measured immediately after processing with the use of FKS-40M. Feedback of the result of measurement to the processing machine can be realized with FKS-40M.
